Steven F Udvar-Hazy Center

Had the opportunity to get into the museum 2 hours before it opened this Saturday to do some photography. What an experience. The invite came from Tom Field, a friend from Visitation, who belongs to the Northern Bethesda Camera Club. The club was invited and Tom was nice enough to ask me and a friend to come along. I ask Terry first but she wasn't interested so I asked Mike.

Shooting in the museum is a challenge. The lighting isn't great and the sheer number of planes first, overwhelms you and second, makes it impossible to find a clean background. None the less we had a great time. If you haven't been out to the museum I strongly suggest you get out there. It’s well laid out and has a full selection of air and space craft to peruse.

  1. Very cool you got in early and great pictures. I didn't realize they had a Space Shuttle out there. Got to bring the kids soon!

  2. Actualy one of the better museums go bring little ones. It's big and open; plenty of space for them to "run" around.

  3. Damn. Is it lame that we both posted on this and both used the word "opportunity?" Ah well...great minds!

    Good shots.

  5. Rob,

I am Mike's Aunt Teresa and I just wanted to say your pictures are great. I especially like the one of the 'Air France' and all the other planes hanging above it. Thanks for linking to Mike's blog so I could view your pictures.
